After moving to London three years ago from Liverpool, we were lucky enough to spend a week in Mykonos with this lovely gal. We took Kate on the side asked her to share us a bit more about herself and her life as a Yogi.
When did you start practicing yoga and why?
I started when I was about 14 years old. I loved the feeling of moving her body, exploring movement and was interested in the spiritual aspect of yoga. It really helps to chill me out.
Tell me about your practice style and how you chose your yoga method?
For my personal practice, I like ashtanga, vinyasa, rocket, yin and restorative styles, really all types of yoga, as long as I am practicing mindful, meditative movement.
What’s your favourite pose and why?
I love the bound half moon as it opens up the whole of the front of the body and requires focus to balance.
What is the most rewarding part of being a yoga teacher?
I get to meet loads of different, interesting people, and to connect and share experiences with these people.
Best advice for beginners?
Start where you are, and be there. Try out lots of different styles as there are lots of different types and teachers - you may not find your preferred style at first and this may change over time.
Your favourite quote?
‘There is more wisdom in your body, than in your deepest philosophy’.
Where is your favourite place to practice yoga?
Outdoors in the sunshine - Mykonos is perfect!
